Ride the Viking Horse
The Icelandic horse is a breed that has remained virtually unchanged since the Vikings brought it to Iceland in the 9th century. With the help of one of our beautiful horses, you can go horseback in the idyllic landscape of Laxnes farm, just out of Reykjavik city. The horseback riding tour is suitable for all experience levels, from beginner to expert, and it is a fantastic way to see the countryside of Iceland. After the horseback riding experience, there will be about an hour to relax and grab something to eat before we join our Golden Circle Tour, which leaves Reykjavik at 13:00.
Þingvellir National Park
If you are coming to Iceland, staying in the area of Reykjavik, Þingvellir National Park is an attraction to don't miss. This place is a mix of great historical, geological, and cultural significance. Þingvellir National Park is a world heritage designated by UNESCO, and it is also a place where the first democratical parliament has been founded back in 930AD. If this is not enough for you, another information about Þingvellir is that at this place Eurasian and North American tectonic plates meet, and the largest Iceland's natural lake Thingvallavatn is situated here. Looking forward already?
Gullfoss Waterfall
Gullfoss waterfall in translate "Golden Falls" is a waterfall that gets its name from the golden color of its water as it churns up silt and sediment. This breathtaking waterfall lies in the river Hvitá and gets its water from Iceland's second-largest glacier Langjökull. In total, Gullfoss is 32 meters high, falling two tiers that are 11 and 21 meters high, respectively. It really doesn't matter what time of the year you will visit this extraordinary place. Gullfoss waterfall is amazing show in the summertime with all that unfrozen powerful water running down, and also in the wintertime with frozen parts and huge icicles. The only difference between these two year times is that during the summertime, an extra path to get even closer to the Gullfoss waterfall is open. Extra time is allotted at this location for a lunch break at Gullfoss Café.
Geysir Geothermal Area
Geysir geothermal area is located in the Haukadalur valley and is the scenic home of the infamous Geysir hot spring. Before you step on the ground here, please, pay respect to signs and step only where you are allowed to. Geysir geothermal area is a charming place with perhaps a difficult smell for some people, but it's so worth visiting. There are many geysers, but only the Strokkur geyser erupts often, to be precise every 6 to 10 minutes. The smells, colors, and eruptions at this popular destination are a window into all the geothermal activity happening across (and beneath) Iceland, making all those hot tubs, swimming pools, greenhouses, and geothermal energy possible.
